Professional and stylish looking arrow effect


In this tutorial I'll be showing you how to make a nice, professional and stylish looking arrow effect, great for icons and buttons.

1.
Make a black background layer and and empty layer to work with.

With the custom shapes tool find the arrow shape from below, and drag it to the stage.

In the layers panel right click the shape layer and choose rasterize layer. Hold down ctrl while clicking the layer to load the selection, then go to select -> modify -> smooth and smooth it with about 20 px. hold down ctrl and shift and press i to invert the selection, then press delete. Now your shape should have runded edges.

Now make a copy of the shape layer and place it beneath the other shape layer.
Go to filters -> blur -> motion blur and set it as in the image below.

Then go to filters -> filter gallery and locate the setting called patchwork and set it as below.

Make a copy of the motion effect layer and place it above the other motion layer, then right click it and choose merge down, now the effect should be lighter.

Double click the front object layer to get to the layers style panel and give it settings as the images below.

Now make a folder in the layers panel and drag the two shape layers in to it, then you can make some copies of the folder and on the stage place the shapes next to each other as I did.
