In this tutorial you will see how to make cool effects with the male and female symbols from Photoshops custom symbols.

1.
In 2 different layers, from the custom shapes rollout draw the male and female symbols as shown in the image below.

Now one of the shapes hold down ctrl and click the shapes layer to get the selection, then go to select -> modify -> expand and expand it with about 10 px. In the layers panel delete the shapes layer and make a gradient as in the image below, then drag it over the selection.

Now repeat step two one more time, only go to customize the gradient settings as shown in the first image below.

For each shape layer go to filter -> blur -> gaussian blur and set it as below.

For each shape, hold down ctrl and click the layer to get the selection, then go to edit -> stroke and give it a corresponding stroke color, and set it as the image below.

Now select the background layer and set a gradient as the first image below.
Drag from left top corner and down to the right corner so you get a background as shown in the second image below.

And now you are done.
